Classical Music Listening & Recall
Classical Music Listening & Recall exposes children to classical music, and teaches them to recognize some of the best known works.  It provides a classical music experience for children, introducing them to famous classical works and composers.  Students will listen to shortened excerpts of famous pieces, such as Beethoven’s 5th symphony, Rossini’s William Tell Overture, Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue, and more.  In this course, we will use simple listening activities to associate musical qualities with particular pieces.  This creates links in the memory, and helps make these important works of art enjoyable and memorable to children. This course will also teach students how to actively listen to music and respond on a personal level.  By the end of the course, students will be able to identify the musical works studied during the course.  Parents are invited to join us on the last day of class for Parent’s Day.
